Brakes

While regular brake inspection are essential, certain symptoms suggest an immediate need for a check-up:

  • Noises: If you hear grinding, squeaking, or squealing when you brake, it’s a sign that your brake pads may be worn or there is a deeper issue with the braking system.
  • Pedal Sensation: A soft or spongy feel to the brake pedal often indicates air in the hydraulic lines or problems with the master cylinder.
  • Steering Response: A steering wheel that shakes when braking points to issues with the brake rotors or alignment.
  • Pedal Pulsation: Pulsating sensations at highway speeds usually mean the brake rotors are warped or uneven.
  • Vehicle Pull: If your car pulls to one side while braking, this could be due to uneven brake pads, a stuck caliper, or hydraulic issues.
  • Warning Lights: Illuminated Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) or BRAKE lights on the dashboard are critical alerts to potential system malfunctions.
